Rick Border

Rick Border was born and raised in the mountains of North Carolina. His career in Real Estate began at the age of 6 when he began assembling for sale signs, mowing yards, and working on houses at his Mother's Real Estate brokerage. He is a graduate of Tuscola High School in Waynesville NC and went on to receive his BSBA in Finance and Real Estate from Appalachian State University in Boone NC. After obtaining his NC Brokers license during college he worked in property management and sales while obtaining his degree. He then took a job as a broker with Cottingham-Chalk and Associates in Charlotte NC and quickly became a top producer. During his tenure at Cottingham-Chalk he worked extensively with executives with many Fortune 500 Companies such as General Motors, Bank of America, First Union, Wachovia, Wells Fargo, Transamerica, Smith Barney, Duke Power, US Airways assisting with large corporate relocations and relocation services. He also worked with developers and builders selling new construction and assembling land. During this time he also gained experience selling REO properties for institutions. In 1999 he founded the Kingston Group which continued to provide excellent real estate services to many of Charlotte top firms and individuals. Rick also developed an interest in historic houses and is considered an expert in Charlotte's historic neighborhoods. In 2009 despite having made many great friends and memories in Charlotte the Blue Ridge Mountains called him home.
